Terms of use

The Engrate Platform, together with any related products (collectively, the “Platform”), are owned and operated by Engrate AB, a company organized under the laws of Sweden with registration number 559468-5942. Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before using the Platform. By accessing or using the Platform or any of the Products on the Platform you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Platform or any of its Content (defined below).

You represent to Engrate that you are lawfully able to enter into contracts (e.g., you are not a minor). If you are entering into these Terms for an entity, such as the company you work for, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity and you agree that “you” as used in these Terms includes both you personally and the entity you represent. You and Engrate are collectively referred to as the “Parties” and each is a “Party”.

MASTER SERVICE AGREEMENT

These Terms govern Freemium access to Engrate’s Cost of Energy Sweden Product, before converting to an annual subscription.

1. The Cost of Energy Sweden Product
The Cost of Energy Sweden Product (“The Product”) enables the Client to calculate the total cost of electricity for any metering point or asset in Sweden. The Product aggregates all components that constitute the total delivered price of electricity, including:

  • Grid tariffs: power-based and energy-based charges from Distribution System Operators (DSOs), including power-based grid tariffs, transfer fees, feed-in tariffs, fixed fees, reactive power, and overdraft fees.
  • Energy tax

The Client can query cost calculations for any metering point by DSO, coordinates, post codes, addresses, or grid metering areas. The Product returns structured, machine-readable cost breakdowns and supports AI-generated summaries of tariff and cost structures. The Product also supports access via Model Context Protocol (MCP) using an MCP client or agents of the Client’s choice.

2. Freemium Access
During freemium access, you will get access to the full overview of tariff and cost model coverage, and limited access to cost calculations and DSO tariffs to validate the model structure and integration. When you convert to a paid subscription you get access to the full Cost of Energy Sweden database and all calculation capabilities.

You may convert to a paid subscription at any point during the freemium period. The freemium experience lasts 60 days from the date of registration, after which the account will be suspended unless you have activated a paid subscription.

3. Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
Engrate retains ownership of all underlying tariff data, data models, calculation pipelines, and platform integrations. The Client receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Product during the subscription term.

Permitted uses — The Client is permitted to:

  • Cache Cost of Energy Sweden output data for their own internal use, as long as they are an active paying customer.
  • Display rendered outputs to their own customers, including Cost of Energy Sweden breakdowns per asset, cost component summaries, and AI-generated summaries of tariff information — provided such outputs do not expose the underlying raw tariff structure in its entirety.

Restricted uses — The Client is strictly prohibited from:

  • Displaying or distributing the full tariff structure (i.e., the complete set of tariff components, rules, and pricing parameters) to their own customers or any third parties.
  • Copying, downloading, or extracting data from the Platform in bulk, or attempting to replicate or recreate Engrate’s data, data models, or integrations independently.
  • Sharing raw tariff data or cost model outputs with third parties for redistribution purposes without an updated subscription. Please contact Engrate in such cases.

Engrate stores all source tariff documents and DSO pricing publications for audit purposes. These records may be made available to the Client upon reasonable written request to support compliance or integration validation activities.

4. Marketing Communication
Both Parties may display the other Party’s logotype and name as a vendor/customer relationship on websites, presentation materials, and other marketing channels.

5. Conversion to Paid Subscription
When you unlock freemium in-app, you convert to a paid annual subscription. Invoicing can be adjusted to annual or quarterly as indicated when you upgrade your account agreed with Engrate. Invoices will be sent to the address that you provide in-app.

Subscription fees are invoiced annually or quarterly in advance for a 12/3-month term. The subscription automatically renews for an additional 12-month term unless either Party provides written notice of cancellation at least 30 days prior to the end of the current subscription period. Any pricing updates will be communicated with a minimum of 60 days’ advance notice.

End of Freemium
After 60 days, your user account will be disabled and Engrate will delete your personal information unless you have activated a paid subscription. If you would like us to delete your account sooner, please contact us at support@engrate.io

6. Master Subscription Agreement
These Terms do not govern the general use of the Platform and other Products operated by Engrate. If you are accessing or using the Platform — even if you are doing so through a free trial — then you are subject to Engrate’s General Platform Terms or such other written contract as may be separately agreed between you and Engrate.
